I did not mention exclusivley,I think people tend to go to homes where they can follow their culture ,religions dietary needs and they already know someone there anyway.

I am probably going into dangerous territory here but what the hell ... Norman when you say Asian care homes do you mean that these homes are exclusively for Asian people?!!!

I'll let the rest of you fill in the blanks!

Enlight me please what does a Memory walk mean ? I mean why call it a memory , as I am of ethnic minorities .

Margarita, to me our 'ethnic minorities' (in the UK) provide the diverse, multi-cultural society we enjoy in the UK today - I know there are a lot of politically correct / incorrect 'hot potatoes' out there and I'm sorry if I seemed to throw one in here on TP.... ALTHOUGH!!!! at this point I have to question why AS has a specialist 'arm' for supporting gay and lesbian carers/sufferers yet it is not deemed necessary to provide a similar 'arm' for, for instance, Afro-Carribean/Asian carers/ sufferers......

Who shouts loudest????? Who dares out? Who dares or fears to not shout?????

I suspect there are many, many people (white/uk, black/uk, white/asylum seeker etc etc etc) who are NOT getting the help they need and deserve as UK citizens....

Anybody here made a conscious or subconscious judgement on whether 'Tender Face' / Karen (TF) is white/UK, Asian, Australian etc ? Does it/ would it make a difference????

If anyone were to ask, it might surprise......

In the meantime, Margarita........

(And I've still got first reservation on that air-bed, remember??!!!!:D ;) )

Is there really a group for carer who have Alzheimer's who have a specialist 'arm' for supporting gay and lesbian carers/sufferers.

why can there not be one UK system for all carer, why if your Afro-Caribbean/Asian carers should you alternate your community from integrating in to one whole with the rest of the communities

If so I think that the system is going loopy there should be one system that work for all , not picking grouping people , that dividing them I personnel would not like to be label as a group.

What would my one be called European care group .

Norman you said
Within the Birmingham area there are Asian care homes

I only Quote you saying that look back at the post

I have cope it hear

I mean the person with Dementia

your find that my Generation 46 in the black community care for them at home & then in the last stages may put them in a care home .

I did see in the vidio a black day centre , But never heard of a all black afro Caribbean care home like Normal said there is for

Within the Birmingham area there are Asian care homes

Yikes!!!! How many people come to TP without routing through the AS Homepage and seeing latest updates on research/care etc???

Sorry, Margarita if you thought I had a hidden gender / agenda - not so. My only agenda is to help my mum, my family and indeed myself - and in a broader sense use what I am learning on this journey to help others.... my learning is not exclusively from TP but much of it from the AS website.....
