Mum's birthday today. My little boy and I met mum and dad and we had a nice outing down the seaside. Mum been in carehome nearly 2 years and is more confused, mmse 8, has some incontinence and struggles with using cutlery, muddled words, but she is calmer now with antipsychotics and recognises us all. Mum got confused and upset about going back to carehome, which is so sad, and the negative of taking her out, but she did enjoy the outing. I wish with all of my heart it could be different, mum needs complete one to one now. At least she is presently calmer, and not in so much emotional turmoil.

You are doing all you can annii. I'm glad for your Mum's sake that she is more calm-and yours. All you can do is care-that's all anyone can do. You are doing good by your Mum.
