Mum – going downhill fast

It’s been a while since I’ve written here. Mum is just getting worse all the time. She’s been vomiting today, and was constipated again the last few days. She has another chest infection, and she’s fallen again - we didn’t go to hospital though. The dilemma now is her eating and the diabetes; she’s not keeping anything down, and can hardly swallow, but she’s had another hypo. All I’ve been doing is giving her slightly sugary drinks, little and often.

She looks so sad, and I can see tears in her eyes – it’s heart-breaking. I feel so useless; just wish I could make all her pain and discomfort go away.

Oh my, I feel for you, it must be so hard to see her like this, but you are however doing all you can to keep her comfortable. Take heart that she has the best possible care with you her family.
