Yes, this is common. My wife would sleep all day if I didn’t get her up. It partly a tiredness induced by the brain working so hard to stay ‘normal’ in the way it works.

My mother was the same for her last year or two.
I think it's quite normal. I always thought that at least it was better than being awake and vaguely confused or anxious, which was sometimes or often the case at earlier stages.
