Oh mummysgirl I'm so sorry about your mum. I think you are right about her waiting til you left, my dad did they same with us. He just wanted to slip away by himself.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

My deepest sympathies at this sad time. What a shock for you but glad you were able to sit with your Mum during those final hours; its amazing that your Mum protected you even at the very end.

Thank you all so much for your kind messages. I think we are all still in shock, I keep thinking I'm going to wake up and find it's all been a bad dream.
Dad is coping well, but has admitted he doesn't think it's hit him yet.
I am fortunate that we are a close family who always pull togther - I know we will get through this.
