Hello Gwen , Thanks for starting this Thread ....... my favorite was the last one all ways loved Marching Bands ! ....... & am not a proper Musical person ..... sing out of tune etc but do like a Brass Band ...... but then the Sally Army have a Silver Band so guess like both realley !

just a thought seeing this took me back. when i was 15 went to stay with my cousin for a week. they lived in shilden, durham. my cousin 2nd i think was a drum major in her local brass band. my she could through that thing high and catch it, must have been a miners do. all my mums side were miners in chesterfield. uncle erick was killed at the winding accident at markham main coliery. sorry off the thread but it just brought back memeries.your john.

Ha ha ! John.

I could chuck a broom shank with a silver ball on it and it did enough twirls to earn Britain a Gold medal.

We were all Regimental Sergeant Majors.

Mam has loved it but we couldn't, no matter how hard we tried,
find a copy of 'Ballerina'.

And anyone, who knows anything about Durham,
and Miners,
and Gala's.
