Hi everyone this is my first time on this site so I hope you all can be a little bit patient with me. My dad was diagnosed with vascular dementia back in March of this year. He has always been a very intelligent man and he was always able to answer any questions about anything. He was known as the God father of the family. He had always worked very hard throughout his life and our lives as we have grown up. A true gentleman to everyone, but also very opinionated about what he believed in. My mum has been a carer for the elderly until my dad's health went down hill 4yrs ago, she then became his carer. I believe she cannot come to terms with his condition as it is personal to her and not like her job was. I have tried to collect as much information about vascular dementia for her but she has put it to the back burner. I could continue but as I have just joined I really don't know how or what to continue with. My main question is If anyone could please give me some advice on how to go about helping her to come to terms as my dad is getting worse each day. I'm so sorry for going on.
