Hi everyone,

The below survey comes from our Dementia Friendly Communities team. They're asking for your thoughts on a new guide to help local businesses become more dementia-friendly.

Our Dementia Friendly Community groups work with local organisations (cafes, shops, churches etc) to support them to make changes to be more dementia-friendly.

Organisations are asked to commit to take three actions and once they've started work on these actions, they are awarded a 'Working to become dementia-friendly' recognition sticker that they can display.

The Dementia Voice team have produced a new short guide to support organisations with ideas for these actions. The guide is based on previous work that Alzheimer's Society has done, with both business leaders and people affected by dementia.

The actions fall into three areas:
  1. People: Making sure staff have an understanding of dementia
  2. Process: Making processes more dementia-friendly
  3. Place: Making the physical space more dementia-friendly
The team would really value your input on the actions that are suggested in the survey.

Specifically, they'd like to know: do you feel that an organisation that took some of these actions would be more understanding, welcoming and supportive of people affected by dementia, and are they the right actions in your opinion?

The deadlne to complete the survey is Friday 8 April. Thanks everyone :)
