My mother-in-law has Alzheimer's and lives on her own. She spends the day times with her sister, but in the evenings she is on her own and gets lonely and bored. I'm really after any advice or suggestions that may help.
Thank you.

Hi Monkey50
Quite often the loneliness and boredom is internal as they cant remember being with people when they are on their own. It is difficult to know what to do. Mum is in a care home with people around her all the time and still complains of loneliness.

Mum says she's lonely but I think it is just company, she wants, just a person in the room. I know that my sister can sit with her and they don't speak, it's just someone in the room. That is why mother has the TV.
But is it not sometime being alone and not the loneliness?
