My husband's dementia symptoms have got worse during lockdown. I think others have also found the same. I'm not sure if it would have happened anyway, but I suspect it is down to lack of stimulation and social contact. And there has been very little mention of the extra stress put on Carers at home with someone with dementia. I'm shielding as well, so can't see much prospect of a quick return to day centres and free time. I dont know how I would feel if the rate if infection goes up again and we have to start again. The longer it goes on the harder it gets.
