Highlights of this month's issue:

Writing to keep well
As dementia progresses, it can have a negative impact on a person's interests, abilities and confidence. For John Batt, however, remaining creative and pursuing his interests is integral to his mental well-being as Luke Bishop discovers.

Striving for a diagnosis
In 2005 Brigid Stubbs started to notice that her husband Paul's behaviour was changing, but he was not diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease until last year. She talks to Luke Bishop about the long wait for a diagnosis.

The right prescription
As more doctors become involved in efforts to reduce the inappropriate use of antipsychotic drugs, Danny Ratnaike speaks to one GP about her achievements in this area.

A vital organ for future research
Brain tissue has been invaluable to some of the most crucial dementia research of the past decade. Luke Bishop looks at how donating your brain after death could benefit future dementia research.

For Peter Dunlop, talking about his dementia not only gives him a chance to tell his story, but raises awareness and challenges people's preconceptions. He spoke to Luke Bishop about his role in a community outreach project.

Keeping a dementia journal
When Chris Young's father-in-law George was diagnosed with dementia, he kept a journal of his and his wife's experiences in caring for him. Luke Bishop reports on Chris' account of how useful this turned out to be.

Showing dementia through film
Filmmaking can be a useful way for people with dementia to express themselves, raise awareness and share their experiences. Danny Ratnaike finds out more about how it is being used to tell people's stories.

Delivering on dementia strategy
The Society's new strategy spells out our vision, mission, values and strategic ambitions for the coming five years. Danny Ratnaike talks to people who will be involved in delivering its objective.
