Live in carer and council tax

Hi all,
I'm thinking of employing a live in carer for my mam who owns her own property and does not pay council tax. I'm wondering how this will impact on the non payment - I'm assuming I would have to declare someone else living at the property??? Anyone else gone down this route?

Yes you'd have to tell them but a non-related live in carer does not have to pay council tax either.

Im considering a friend who has been nightsitting for me since June and is in a position where she could move in, just need to clarify a few legal points first.

You would need to get a Carers Disregard form completed in order for it all to be above board with the council. X
