We've all heard the phrase 'if I knew then what I know now’.

With this in mind, we're wondering what things you know now that you wish you knew before? What questions do you wish you had the answer to before?

Please feel free to share anything relating to your experience with dementia as someone who identifies as LGBT+, or your experience of supporting someone with dementia who identifies as LGBT+.

This can include things you think others could benefit from knowing early on, organisations and resources you wish you knew about, and any other tips you think people may find useful.

If I could talk to my younger self from what I know today, I would tell myself never to feel ashamed of who you are and to embrace life and to be proud of yourself. I would also tell myself never to underestimate the power of a chosen 'family' and the love and support they will offer and to invest time, energy and commitment in those special friendships and relationships along the way.
