Just days to go...

Dear All,

My dad is on the ninth day now of being in bed and quite unaware of his surroundings. The care team and GP have suggested the withdrawal of all fluids now as anything we were managing to get into him was going into his lungs. He is running a fever now and they have attached a drip with basic fluids and morphine. The doctor said that he may have two to three days.

We are all praying that his end is peaceful (as I suppose everyone does) and with as much dignity as possible.

I may not be on this forum hereafter but I wanted everyone to know that it has been a huge relief to read others' stories and somehow I feel I have gained some strength from that. God bless you all and I hope that your loved ones find peace when it is time.
