My mother has Alzheimer's. She's only been diagnosed for about a year but I'd say she's already about midway in the seven stages. But only a month ago, when I visited her at home in North America, she recognised me. This month, having coming with my father (who is determined to tick off her bucket list) to visit me in the UK, she doesn't have the slightest idea who I am.

She is still loving, so I'm not saying I'm upset. I'm just wondering, how much do people think this might be jet lag? On the other hand she's already been here a week. Might it reverse when she goes home? What do we think?

Wish I new the Answer

I just know lucidity in times of confusion away from normal home surrounding would make my mother more confused be less lucid .

So maybe you're only find out when your mother back in her home .

Its like a chatch 22 really as people with dementia do go in out of lucide moments even when they are stable in one place all the time .

Good to read that your mother is still loving It has not stop your father living a normal life in traveling abroad with your mother .
