It feels like I will be a stranger at my partner's funeral

Thank you all so much for all your messages today.
After all the worry and the stress it went pretty well in the end. Christel's daughter's friends were so kind and supportive, while I actually managed to deliver my happy memories without stuttering. Between that, the music her son played as a tribute to everything she did for him, and a eulogy delivered by my friend Adrian it was a fitting celebration of a beautiful lady.

Ah I’m so glad it all went as well as it did. A huge relief for you and it sounds like a really fitting tribute to Christel.

I am glad to hear that @nae sporran You have given Christel the funeral that she deserved and would have wanted. Now is the time to give yourself some space and time - to grieve but also to remember all that was special in your life together.

I am happy to hear that things went well today Rob.
In a little while the hassle and distress of the last months will start to fade and you will begin to remember the little things and events you shared that made you smile, along with your long lasting feelings.
Best wishes,
Carol.
