Hi All,

Dad's home had a theatre company visit and do a show before Christmas. The care home manager was a little dubious as they said that they would perform 'The Tempest' but she said it was amazing. Dads home is dementia only and the theatre company involved many of the residents which turned out incredibly stimulating and vibrant. A few of the residents were dressed up and involved in the play and at one point they put out a huge blue sheet and made it into the sea which had and incredible effect.

It sounds brilliant and she could not speak highly enough of the people involved in the group.

If any one is intrested they have a website:

Ladder to the Moon

Kind Regards
Craig

This sounds a grand idea. I'm all for residents being involved in activities and getting the stimulation and encouragement they need.

Glad that your dad's home took up the offer.

Oh WOW.

I've just watched the video - looks amazing.

Have contacted the company to see if they have any contacts up here in the frozen north.

People from the local theatre for Jan's home do visits to her home - generally they do a sort of music hall act, with songs from the shows and dancing, banter etc.

Goes down well with the staff and the residents have something to watch.

Also a travelling farm comes there. sounds strange, but it goes down so well. Pictures below

It is a hands-on and sometime nose-on  experience

What a great idea Bruce.

These kind of activities are so refreshing! It would be great if they could be promoted more widely.

thanks for sharing
