Another report on this, from The Times
http://timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/health/article1980384.ece

I would love to know how NICE came up with a figure of £355 per week for residential care. Since I'm paying £600/week someone, somewhere, must be paying only £110 a week for that to average out!

And what about this quote
"Andrew Dillon, chief executive of NICE, said: “Non-drug interventions have an important part to play and the evidence indicates that drugs are not effective for some patients.”"?

Some patients? So access is to be restricted becasue not ALL patients benefit? Someone want to name any drug that helps all patients in every situation?

Grrr
