I wanted to post an image in a private message, can you? I couldn't see how to do it.

I just tried it on my mini iPad and just closes down too.

I tried using that icon in an ordinary post and it closed down there too.

Just put the URL into the body of the text, even if it does not come up as a hyperlink it can be cut and pasted.

hmmm clearly only url will do and don't have that, I give up for now, work to do.

You can't put an image directly into a PM. Your only option is to use one the image hosting sites like imgur, up load the photo to that and then use the link for that.

You can put a image directly on PM on a laptop or PC but not on the iphone or ipad,

Clicking the icon and entering the URL was suggest some time back but unfortunately on an iPhone clicking the icon returns a blank.

I suggested inserting the URL directly into the text.

The image is in an iPad album and I don't know enough about iThings to obtain the URL, I've never owned or used anything Apple.

With PMs you can only do it by specifying the URL, not inserting from local storage as you can with posts.
