Hello Everybody , My Father (sadly ) **lost ** his Hospital Walking Stick last week ( my feeling is somebody ran off with it ! even tho Mum retraced their steps* looking for it a local shop etc plus it had been **lost ** quite a few days before Mum knew it was **missing ** )

Sorry am rambling on ! Dad has a new one but sadly he had too buy it himself from the special disabled centre Which am guessing would not come cheap ? ( Staff took time & care etc too make sure it was the correct height etc before cutting the **end ** off ) So with the expense etc am thinking it might be a good idea too I'D it ( surname & phone number only ) But am not sure how > > Only idea I have is for a **dog style Tag ** but am not sure how it could be fixed on** > Any advice , better ideas etc would be most welcome ! !

Thank you very much

Could it be engraved?
I used permanent marker on a metal and wooden stick but it's not really permanent - I'm thinking of just scratching a name on both (well, after finding one which has also gone walkabout on it's own - maybe there's some surreptitious respite being arranged for overworked walking supports)

I have white sticky labels wrapped round John's sticks with his name and phone number on them. Seems to work!!

Our local cobbler will engrave on glass and metal and would think he could do wood. A thin metal strip could be glued or nailed to a stick. I have seen walking sticks with small metal shields tacked to them, most of them showing names if places visited.

Mum is always leaving her walking stick around in her CH. Its a joke that its well named as its always walking!
Mums stick has her name on a white sticky label. It seems quite secure and works.
I use this crowd for name labels

I think I would be tempted to try the local key cutter or shoe repairer. I've sent small metal tags engraved and pinned onto walking sticks by way of an ID tag. Can't be difficult and got to be loads cheaper that a new walking stick. Good luck
