What a relief for someone to understand. They absolutely do not tell anywhere near the whole story but I am very glad and grateful for the part of the story that the pictures do tell.
I felt quite ashamed after I'd said I had thought some while back that I thought Alan was nearing the upper end of the scale but then I trust what I experienced of Alan back then and know that it was true. The trouble is that I forget just what it was that was so disturbing and worrying because everyday is so full and things just seem to blend in to some kind of whirr. He is definitely not there now and I believe he was very seriously affected by that virus and it really did take quite a lot of time to recover from. I didn't think that he would recover at all and I never for one moment dreamt that he would recover as well as he has.
I am very grateful for your comments Stikwik because I would have been afraid of mentioning it again.
