Hi everyone,
Here's a few facts and figures that I thought you might find interesting.
1. Six million people in the UK care part time or full time for family or friends who are ill, frail or who have a disability. The care they provide is unpaid.
2. Almost one million people care for over 50 hours a week.
3. There are 51 000 young carers under 18 years of age in the UK.
4. Carers save the nation an estimated £34 billion every year.
5. There is a surplus of £24 billion in National Insurance Contributions sitting in the Treasury.
6. Gordon Brown creamed £5 billion off occupational pensions to pay for our membership of the EU this year.
7. In total, £40 billion has been creamed off pensions schemes by the government over the past 7 years.
Time for the revolution?
