My wife is 67 next month and we did not get a definite diagnosis until November 14.

Now I know she has had it for at least 5 years and I am retired now and look after her.

Is there anything I should look for in her to show worsening of the condition.

I have been told that there are stages of dementia?

Please help.

Hello and welcome to Talking Point although it is sad you need to be here.

I give two links below, one giving the three stages of dementia and one giving seven stages.

Most of our members will probably agree that the stages cannot really be determined and the length of time each stage takes is totally unpredictable. A simple example is that my husband showed more aggression in the early stages. At one time there was a quoted average of 8 years life span but my husband suffered for at least 14 years.

I am sure others will be along soon with their thoughts. Please keep posting as I am sure you will find support here.
