Also have you heard of Admiral Nurses? They are dementia specialist nurses, similar to Macmillan Nurses
Great source of information, and someone for you to talk to. Look on line for nearest, although again SS should know about them also

Even if there arent any Admiral nurses in your area, you can still phone them on 0800 888 6678 from 9am to 9pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 5pm during the weekend. Or send an email to helpline@dementiauk.org

I found them very helpful when I was told that OH would require a catheter

    Thanks @katydid & @canary xx
SW didn't offer anything like that at all and I did mention someone to sit with mum while I had break to go do something. All SW said they could offer was carers for 30/45 minutes to help with mum getting ready on a morning and check having a meal and medication which mum said didnt want anyone coming in house or need help so SW didnt include the carer visits on mums care plan.
Lady from carers support service who came on Tuesday brought a couple of leaflets for agencys that do companionship visits, though we would have to pay for them, but she also offered to help complete AA forms for mum which if got could help pay for such things. Mums not agreed to visits yet but I have their details ready now just in case.
I did look for admiral nurses in our town and there aren't any, but I didn't realise I could still contact them for advice if I was out of area so thanks for that. XX
