Does anyone have a similiar problem to me? my husband is only 52 and has rapid onset dimentia and seems to be getting worse by the day. I use carers but he cannot do anything for himself now and is losing his balance and mobility. He has been diagnosed with possible MS and coeliacs. He is due for an MRI scan in May but is becoming aggressive. I need to find a home for him which has nursing and an EMI. I live in Chesterfield and am having great difficulty finding a place suitable for his needs. I have heard that Nottingham has suitable places but Ican't find any information or lists anywhere.

Hi Cynthia

I don't have a similar problem but do have a couple of suggestions. Have you tried the CSCI website where you can search under area, type of care etc? This link should take you to a search I did for Nottingham

http://www.csci.org.uk/registeredservicesdirectory/RSSearchResults.asp?Action=SearchByArea&Seltype=CRH&seltypename=Care%20Home&servCats=1&userCats=2&SelArea='C512'

Also, do you have a social worker and/or cpn? If so then they should be able to help you with this. If you don't have a social worker or cpn then it sounds as though you should do.

Someone may be able to help with more specific information from personal experience but hope this is of some help.

Homes for Younger Dementia

Sorry that you are having such a rough time.

Through the carers groups I attend, I know of two sufferers who are now resident in St Andrew's Lodge, Hucknall Lane, Nottingham. This home specialises in 'challenging behaviour'. The placements were made through their social workers.

Hope this helps.

care home

Hi Cynthia

Noelphobic is right about the care home, it is the same one. I believe it is off Hucknall Lane. Glad to have been of help.
