My dad has paranoid schizophrenia with vascular dementia, currently under a section 3 at local hospital after being arrested for knife attack on neighbour, who thankfully is ok. Mum at home alone with possible frontotemporal dementia. Dad also sectioned 2 Feb last year, trying to kill me.
Both very ill and vulnerable.
you have to fight and fight for help, they will bully and intimidate you (THE AUTHORITIES), but research all you can, MIND is an excellent source of help. Do not wait for the crisis !!!!!!
There is help out there, but be prepared for the fight of your life, they will do anything not to help (money), but you can win. I am lucky and have a mh specialist solicitor. They want to send dad home with my mother of whom he is terrified. Day release etc !!!!!! Dad is scared and frustrated and over my dead body will I allow this to happen. My mother abuses and terrifies my dad. The authorities played me last time, never again. My lovely dad, whatever time he has left will be spent feeling the sun on his face with peace in his heart, and my mother is happy watching football alone. Sad after 53 years of marriage but they can never be together again. She drives and manipulates my poor dad. Dad loves her but does not want to be with her again. Sad sad story, I will never have that happy ending, but if I can can put a smile on my dad's face, then god so I will. I have to fight them, and so I will. Do your research, get help and fight for your parents. We will be in their shoes one day.
