i THINK MY MUM IS IN THE FIRST STAGES OF ALZHEIMERS, HOW CAN I GET GOOD MEDICAL ADVICE TO ASSESS IF SHE CAN LIVE ALONE, LIVE ALONE WITH HOME HELP OR IF SHE NEEDS TO LIVE WITH THE FAMILY.

Hi Brian, sorry to hear of your concerns. You really need to speak to your Mum's GP about them as that would be your starting point to get help for her if your fears are confirmed. Her GP would be able to organise tests if your Mum was willing and the GP thought they were justified. It is a very worrying time before diagnoses and there are so many things rushing through your mind about future care needs if Alzheimer's is the cause. You don't say what your Mum's symptoms are, but you know, there is a chance it could be just a deficiency, iron, B12, a urine infection, several things can cause a person to appear confused.
