Hi don't normally post anything but read people posts who are struggle with dealing with a loved one with alzheimers but me and my sisters are in a situation regarding our mum and don't no which way to go .. my mum had to go into a care home about 19 months ago which for her was no probs before she went in there where issues with changing her clothes one a daily basses and bathing... we have now been served from her care home a safe guarding on her and she has to be moved into a nursing dementia home which are very far and few on top of this she over the months has become more agitated also she has Osteoporosis she is on no medication not even pain killers and is deteriorating every day also some days don't sleep much in days we now have the problem in finding the right nursing dementia home for her and they are very far and few with beds available .... frown emoticon

Hello. sorry you are going through this and sorry I cant help but wanted to give your post a bump to the top, where others with more experience can help. it may help if you can tell us of some of the difficulties they are having with your mum , that they require her to be moved.

I suggest you have a word with your Mum's GP as I would have thought she may need pain killers for the Osteoporosis .
My mum could and did get very agitated when she was in pain.

Also it is known that pain is under diagnosed in dementia .

I am in the US and don't know the system where you live, but it seems to me that a care home can't just say the client needs to be removed without talking it over with you and exploring a range of options. It sounds as if the specialist or GP need to be contacted for pain medication; the osteo problems surely are making her more agitated. I hope someone with experiences in your region comes along soon to offer location-appropriate suggestions to you.
