My mum just moved care homes and she had an en suite in last one but not here they want a £100 month for an en suite room this will be really hard for us to fund out of our income the manager and deputy manager of the care home both insist it is ok for mum to pay from her savings (she has less than the higher limit but more than the lower limit). I thought it had to be paid by family? I don't want to find I have to pay a lot of money back to her account if someone says I am wrong.

Anyone had any experience of this? I know that currently LA pay home certain amount and take most of her pension not sure what happens when she gets to lower limit

From the information I've read on here I don't think it is allowed for top-up fees to be paid by the person receiving care.
I have read LOTS of posts that say DO NOT SIGN or agree to anything, you would be liable and the fee isn't fixed.

Please wait, there will be lots of people here who will be able to give you good, solid advice.

I have no experience, my Mam is in her own home.
But I think you are right and they(manager and deputy) are wrong.
Hope you get some precise advice. x
