The Alzheimers Society are producing a series of help cards to be used by those who have Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia or Memory Problems. These cards have one of each title on top and are designed to be carried by those with the illness, in case they ever need support from the Police, Public or anyone else. These cards have been piloted around the country and were very successful, as well as a help to many of us involved in the pilot, including myself. The cards are not a threat to anyone's security as there is no information on them which can be used by any unscrupulous person.

On the outer cover it has the following:-

The Illness
I would appreciate help.
Please see inside for information on how to help me.

The information inside covers:-

My name:-
My Illness:-
My other medical conditions:-
My Allergies:-
Name of someone who might help:-
Their Day time phone number:-
Their night time phone number:-
My Doctors phone number:-
These cards are invaluable and are well worth using. Even though I can still get around quite well, they give the extra support and confidence I need.

Ken

Help cards can be ordered by emailing pubsorders@alzheimers.org.uk.

Hi all,

As a follow up I thought that I would tell you that these cards have been so popular, that there are now in the region of 29,000 of them in circulation.

This is brilliant as it proves that a lot of people really appreciate them.

Best Wishes
Ken

Excellent Ken and thanks for spreading the word.
I think this is the makings of a great new factsheet ;)

Spent ages myself trying to work out what to put on dads 'safety' card but this covers everything.

Again, many thanks for sharing.

Kindest Regards
Craig
