woke up this morning to noises came out of the bedroom and it was coming from my father in laws room he was banging his head against the door is this normal I have noticed that he has few bruises sometimes on his face

Do you have any idea why he was banging his head? I've noticed one of the small children I work with do this when they get angry, over tired or frustrated. Could it be something like this with your father in law?
There's a man in the same home as my wife who hits his forehead with the palm of his hand and has been doing it for the 9 months I've known him.
I've no idea why but neither the assessment unit they were in nor the home where they are now seems to have a solution.
