Have you seen duplicate words in posts?

John (Beechmount) indicated in another thread that he sometimes sees a post where the last word of a line is sometimes duplicated (either on the same line or on the next). I'm trying to track down what the problem might be but it's difficult because I am not seeing the same problem.

I think it's browser-dependent. I notice this sometimes when using Internet Explorer but not when using Firefox or Chrome.

Same symptom in other contexts:

Word at end of line repeated at start of next line

Duping words at the end of a line?

Forum repeating words at the end of a line

Last word at the FOOTER section is repeated when viewed on IE

I use Internet Explorer on a DT computer but have never seen the duplicate words nor little white text boxes.

Screenshots showing repeated-word issue

Screenshots from IE 9 and Firefox 18.0.

Notice in IE 9 that the word 'line' at the end of the line is repeated at the start of the next line; even just selecting that text makes the ghost vanish. Haven't seen the issue in other browsers.

No duplicates for me, but today, as happened a few days ago when ever I post to a thread, I get sent back to the begining of the thread and have to "page down" to see that it has been posted.

Another thing I have noticed, only today, is that if I click new posts, I only get the threads I have not read, not new posts to threads I have read/posted to. I've sorted this by always clicking today's posts rather than new posts. I've missed a few things I was keeping my eye on, until I worked out what to do.

Yes that has been happening to me as well and it did a few days ago, being sent back to the beginning of the thread when I click submit reply ,

The 'duplicate word' issue is still present (not that it bothers me or anyone very much, I think).

But what's happened to Advanced Search? Useful features, like the ability to sort results by date, seem to have disappeared.

It's no longer up at the top right, but if you go to any forum and chose search forum and then select advanced from there, you get the "old" advanced search.

No, I don't know why it was changed. :)

Ah! Thank you, jenniferpa. At least we can still get to it even if it's trickier to find.

I didn't know, but there's a whole thread about the changes:

Talking Point updates

Re-worded commands
‘Reply with quote’ has changed to ‘Respond to member’ ...

Hmm .. have to agree with lin1 that that isn't clearer. Oh, well.

I'm glad to see that the Advanced Search has since been brought back again.

Thanks to whoever took care of that.
