I hope you all had a good Christmas and Year. Can I recommend a book that was bought as a Christmas gift by a friend who has been with me throughout my Mum's illness. It may have been mentioned before but as I am fairly new to the site not sure. It is by an American author Sue Miller .... The story of my father.... ISBN 0 7475 6519 8.... £12.99 and tells the true story of how Sue coped for caring with her father when he was diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease. The book moves from her early childhood recollections and love for her father to the diagnosis, early problems eventual move into care death and greaving. It is only a short book , I read it in a couple of sittings, but it is very moving and contains some extremely useful scientific passages about AZ, its causes and effects.
