... then maybe a device like the one mentioned here with GPS etc would be useful for those known to be at risk? Not yet available in Europe but hopefully it will be and will come down in price.

There are of course other GPS devices already available in the UK, discussed many times in the forums, and very useful for some people.

Yes, well worth mentioning - I didn't mean to sound negative.

For example, our mum reliably wears her alarm-button lanyard, though we're not that confident that she'd remember to use it if the need arose; if this device really delivers as a smart and trustworthy automatic fall alert, that would really be something.
