My Mum of 87 has Alziemers, she has been living at home with care twice a day untill 2 weeks ago when i was told by the ss that she was no longer safe at home due to wondering the streets etc, I was told she needed 24 hour care and was put into respite until I could find a permanent care home for her.
I live 50 miles away and have found her a nice place which will take her, but its out of her area. The home could not give me any prices of care, they told me it all had to be done by her social worker, fair enough, so after getting in touch with ss they informed me that it could take up to 4 weeks to get everything sorted. I ring the ss almost every day, telling me its being sorted. Mum will be self funded so I cannot understand why it should take 4 weeks. Any advice would be helpful.

Do the home understand your mum will be self-funding? Can't really see why SS need to be involved if that is the case.
