Just mentioned Freecycle in another thread, and realised it might be worth saying something about it in a new thread as there will be others in similar situation.
I'm clearing out dad's house at the moment since he went into nursing home, and there's lots of stuff that I don't want myself, don't think would sell, but don't think should just go to the tip. Freecycle seems to be the solution. It's a national/international thing, with local/city groups. You join, post a list of stuff you want to get rid of (or stuff you want) and people then mail back and request it. It's all for free, no selling stuff, either people come to collect or I guess you can drop it off for them.
