Thanks LadyA. That will really give us all a piece with some to spare. Just don't know how you found time to make it with all your other activities. Thank you also for your suggestion re ebay, its a struggle. I did finally get round to looking there and found nice little outfits without breaking the bank..

Love my garden at this time of the year so took these before wind and rain set in to destroy the blossoms. You will notice there are no photos of my weedy borders. I have done them but they seem to be back again the following day.

What a beautiful garden! Have a lovely birthday. Didn't realise you were a Taurean, like me, it's mine in a couple of weeks. Apparently we are strong and reliable, just like the Queen! ;) xxx

Have been with another Taurean today who agreed that we like the finer things in life, are strong and reliable and also as stubborn as a donkey

Verity - what's the name of that gorgeous blue climbing plant? And is it hard to grow? I'm feeling very covetous!:D

Absolutely accurately describes my Taurean husband Verity, as the physio and OT who have been trying to get him to use walking aids have found out!!
Your garden is very lovely and the blue clematis is stunning. It's very early, although I have got a montana which has just started to flower. Birthday hugs and love to you. Es

It is indeed a clematis, one of the macropetala (think that's right) variety. They are early flowering and come in several shades. There are actually 2 plants in there, one either side of the arch. This one has a lovely creamy underskirt while the other, which is normally slightly later, is true blue. Have another pinky one in the front garden but not so prolific. In the last couple of years he was home, Fred used to go around with secateurs snipping off all the flowers when they started to bloom so it's a double pleasure to see them flowering now. Must admit I am a clematis (and orchid) fanatic so probably have too many in the garden of different varieties but several of them have buds ready to burst. Just hoping the forecast bad weather doesn't ruin the flowers. Hope you all have peaceful days. xx

PS! I don't think they are difficult to grow, LadyA and I think it is probably my favourite as they seem to herald spring and I do love the colour.

I find getting them estblished before the slugs get them is the main problem Verity, plus my very heavy clay soil which sees off a lot of things. Clematis are a delight and well worth persevering with. I don't see how you can have too many:):):)
