Splatt - it's difficult isn't it? I should register my mother's EPA because she has definitely lost capacity, yet I can put it off because 1) she's in a nursing home 2) the only time she leaves it she's in a wheelchair so there's always someone to look after her and 3) I have 3rd party access to her account. The point is, for my mother at least, is she would sign anything if it was provided with a plausible (or implausible) story, particularly if I was the one presenting it. Fortunately I'm honest, but if she didn't have me to manage her affairs she'd have no idea what was coming in and what was going out (fortunate in another way: she'd have kittens if she knew how much this was costing).
