Others going through it, no matter how often, doesn't lessen your suffering. It was good you were able to be there and support her passing.
it's a horrible disease to the end.... you are in my thoughts

Thank you everyone. It means a lot that you’ve taken the time to message someone you don’t know. Today has, as expected, been very up and down. I have to say, crying with a cold is not the best thing, but at least it keeps my nose running as opposed to blocked and unblowable! Every cloud has a silver lining as they say!
