My Father 83 and his wife have lived in France for 15 years, she is struggling to cope with his care both physically and financially! She can’t drive and their savings are running out. They live in Haute Vienne Queaux. What help can she get in France and who can she ask?

hello @Debmet
a warm welcome to DTP
there's certainly a lot of support on offer here, so do post with anything that's on your mind

maybe one contact is here:

might you add France as the location on your profile so members can see it, as we do have members also in France or with relatives there and they may be able to offer specific suggestions

My sister, a widow, no children, who is in France has been diagnosed with Alzheimer in 2018 and has been looked after for many years by a nice lady who now does everything for her. My sister has been in denial ever since she was diagnosed but her GP as well as the specialists she has seen at the local hospital have been very helpful. Every morning, a nurse brings her a pill to take. She has access to a speech therapist (she did not want), memory nurse and other people who can help her. One comes and plays memory games with her! Your first port of call is her GP and the hospital neurologist who will tell your mother what to do to get some help for your father. Bonne chance!
