Hello

We said farewell to my Dad today in a beautiful service, in a packed church, full of family and friends. The vicar was wonderful, and gave a personal tribute which touched all present. I managed to get through the eulogy - just - although I was shaking at the end.
The wake was full of laughter and memories. It was perfect, and my Dad would've been proud.

My Mum was solid, and only cried at the crematorium, although I suspect there are more tears to come.

Thanks to all who offered support here during Dad's struggle.

With love to all, especially those suffering, and caring.

A moving account, thank you for sharing. Glad you feel your dear Dad would have approved, hope Mum is OK, bless her, and you of course.
Kindest regards
Hazel

I'm glad the day went as well as it could; at funeral gatherings in our family, they always seem to end up in hoots of laughter as old family tales are retold & fondly remembered.
Death is only a part of life, sad though it is. The wake is a great tradition for honouring the life of the departed & reliving our part in it.
