I haven’t posted in a while but need to now.
Mum got through all the lockdowns and a recent outbreak of COVID 19 that saw her care home shut from New Year until recently.
Earlier this week she had a massive downturn and it’s no longer years or months BUT weeks.

You tell yourself you can cope - you can’t
You tell yourself you can be strong one for your ‘ younger siblings’ ( we,re all working age for years) - you can’t
You tell yourself you won’t be upset because it’s part of the process - but you know it’s a lie that finds you in the dark
The imminent end of a life of a loved one hurts and that’s it.
Don’t tell me any different

Please don't tell yourself all these things, don't try to be strong or stop the tears. Times of not coping, not being able to be strong for others and getting very upset are all part of the natural process of grief which starts at the point of knowing someone is dying not when they are gone. Please be kind to yourself and make sure you make time and space to process all the negative things you are experiencing. It will be very painful but much better over all for your mental health.

May you be able to find some kind of peace of mind in this time.
