Domepezil side effects?

My husband has been put on domepezil 5mg for Alzheimer’s. He had one tablet on Wednesday with no side effects. He took another last night and an hour later was icy cold with uncontrollable shaking which lasted about 40 mins. Fortunately he was in bed, but got up 3 times last night to the loo. I intend to contact a doctor but wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience and either persevered or changed medication. He takes statins at same time but I was told this was ok.

Some of these symptoms are in the list of side effects of that med so a chat with the GP is a wise course of action as there are other drugs in the same class and something else may suit better.

It's a fact that many people have difficulty with tolerating Donepezil.

Thankyou. I’m waiting for a call from memory clinic as they prescribed. Good to hear it’s not uncommon and alternatives may be more suitable.!
