I would like to say a huge thank you to all who posted a reply to my post about whether to agree to a DNR or not. I had been asked to write by the care home staff who I felt had been pushed into asking me by the doctor.

As my friend has no living relatives and I have a financial POA I did feel that it was a step too much to ask me to come to a conclusion either way.

You were all so right: I did feel bullied so I have written to say that I cannot make this decision and that if it has to be made then the doctor should take responsibility for it himself.

Thanks again. You all helped to put my random thoughts in order and I feel a great relief that this dreaded letter has been written.

So glad you feel relieved Tabitha. Watching your friend deteriorate due to this disease is difficult enough without such added distress. Take care.
