Designing a kitchen

Hi, I'm new to the forum so apologies if this is info that is already 'out there' but my searches didn't find anything!
My mum, who has dementia, is moving to live next door to my family and I. We will be putting in a new kitchen for her. We learnt the hard way about gas hobs (mum isn't used to gas) and would like to try and avoid as many other pitfalls as possible. Does anyone have any tips/ ideas/ advice for designing a kitchen that will suit her now and as her condition deteriorates? Mum is used to cooking with an aga so we are considering installing one for her. But this is an expensive option and maybe not the best choice. Does anyone have other recommendations or experiences of kitchen set-ups that take into account safety and ease of use?
Thanks!
