My mum goes to bed any time between 6.30 and 9.30. How important is it that she takes her tablet just before bed as I don't want her to miss it by leaving it too late and then finding that she has gone to bed?

Thanks

I don't think it matters much whether you give Donepezil in the morning or evening as long as it's at roughly the same time every day.

I think they need to be taken in the evening, probably just before going to bed as they can cause hallucinations. I'm not an expert in this and it's worth checking with her GP

OH h always taken it in morning, since he started several years ago. Just as well he did, he rarely has an evening meal now! Never noticed any ill effects.

Thank you everyone that's been really helpful. It can be hard to do what's best without causing more hassle/ stress :)

Hello,
My mum is taking donepezil.
She started by taking it at night and found she suffered from the most awful insomnia!
- down to only sleeping a couple of hours a night !
When she switched to taking it after breakfast the problem went away.
Good luck !
