Dementia Fixations

Hi - I'm struggling with my mothers fixations on carers who are trying to help her. She fixates and decides she doesn't like them for no reason. Does anyone have any positive ways of dealing with situations like this?

Hello @Tredding . My mum, who is in a care home, often takes against carers, including one who she normally adores. It generally passes after a few days. Hopefully this will be the case for your mum too. The carers have probably experienced this before and just have to try and get on with their job in the meantime. I used to say (when I was visiting) Oh he/she's just been telling me how lovely you are/that your his/her favourite. It doesn't always work. Paranoia seems par for the course, unfortunately.
