Volunteers? About as much good as a chocolate teapot unless they are dementia trained.
I agree that there ARE too many elderly stuck in hospital, but until better home support structures are in place, that's the way it will be.
If the NHS saw being cared for at home as a extension of their role, carers would be better paid and better trained and those needing care not fraught with care bills
Its time for change.
