I often reply to a post and put something like "sending you a huge bouquet of cyber flowers and cyber hugs". I've posted this on the "After Dementia Dealing With Loss" forum, but it applies equally, I think, to those of you on here, who have "lost" the spouse or partner they once knew.

Cyber Hugs

When those problems we desperately try to off-shrug,
When we'd give every penny, to just get a hug

When it's sunny, or miserable, oh how we've cried
As we long for our sweetheart, to be by our side

We nail smiles on our faces, when others we meet
Though our grief, like a rod, goes from head, down to feet

We must trudge through life's journey, as best as we can
Though we weep for our loss, of our woman, or man

We see every memento, each photo, each card
As we realise daily, that this is so hard

Though we knew it was coming, no difference that makes,
We must press on regardless, whatever it takes

So, together, we'll post, cos on here we're united
In a club, no one wanted to find they're invited

Where the membership, sadly, though hardly surprising
Is thriving and active, and constantly rising

Where we praise everybody for each small success
Where we know people mean it, when they say "God Bless"

Where sometimes we post cos our hearts are just breaking
Over something that's definitely not of our making

I don't know your phone number, I don't know where you live
So reality cuddles I just cannot give

But, through cyber space, I just want you to hear
That although they're not "real", all my hugs are sincere

That's lovely Scarlett and cyper hugs are always welcome.
We're not very touch/feely as a family but sometimes, it's all you need so cyber ones are great. xxx

Dear Scarlett, you have a wonderful gift, but above all you speak from the heart and from experience. Thank you so much for your love and support. (hugs)
