Has anyone else had a phone call and a follow up letter regarding ventilators and that my mum will only be offered palliative care at home.? I'm.so upset.

That's rather brutal - who was it from? We all know there are tough decisions to be made and priorities to be established but to do it pre-emptively seems especially heartless

another member has posted about a phone call from the GP

there are some difficult conversations to be had at some point in everyone's life
sadly, the current situation is raising a lot of tough issues all at once
maybe it's worth having those conversations before each of us is in the thick of things, and that might be what the caller is trying to help with
palliative care does not at all mean no care, it is to support the person, keep them free from anxiety and pain ... being at home may be best, in the familiar environment
